In as close to real time as possible, News Unfiltered delivers the images direct from the photographer’s camera straight to consumer screens in as fast as 59 seconds.

The platform allows audiences to view images uploaded from simultaneous events sans curation, offering a veritable same-time view of the world as seen by the photographers at the heart of the action.
From Prime Minister Trudeau’s family visit to Juno beach, to the thousands of officers that today lined London’s streets to bid farewell to Westminster attack victim PC Palmer, the feed enables viewers to see the full take from these and other major events, and share the news on Twitter and Facebook as they see it.

Getty Images today announced that applications for its 2017 Grants for Editorial Photography programme are now being accepted.
Five photojournalists will be selected to receive grants of US$10,000, intended to provide the funding and freedom to pursue projects of personal and journalistic significance.
Applicants will be reviewed by the following distinguished judging panel:
– Alice Gabriner, International Photo Editor at Time Magazine
– Chelsea Matiash, Senior Photo Editor at The Intercept
– Thomas Simonetti, Washington Post Photo Editor
– Damon Winter, photographer for New York Times
– Jean-Francois LeRoy, Director General and Founder Visa Pour l’Image
The Editorial Grants programme, which launched in 2004, supports photojournalists around the world by providing the creative freedom and collaborative editorial support necessary in their pursuit of work, which they would otherwise not have had the time or resources to address.
One Editorial Grant recipient will be chosen for the David Laidler Memorial Award, which launched last year in honour of the former Getty Images employee who passed away in August 2015. David was instrumental in developing the Getty Images Grants for Editorial Photography programme.
Last year’s programme saw Getty Images receive more than 450 applications from 75 countries. The winning projects examined a range of thought-provoking and moving issues; from refugees in the Middle East to the effects of climate change is Alaska.
