Getty Images wins 13 awards at Pictures of the Year International 2022, including Sports Photographer of the Year

London – 2 March, 2022: Getty Images, a preeminent global visual content creator and marketplace, celebrates the outstanding success of its photographers at this year’s Pictures of the Year International (POY). Getty Images’ photographers and photojournalists received 13 awards in total, including Sports Photographer of the Year, Dean Mouhtaropoulos.

Getty Images’ photographers dominated in numerous categories. These include Patrick Smith, who won the Olympic Action award and was named as a finalist for Sports Photographer of the Year; Brent Stirton, who was awarded first place in the Science & Natural History Singles, and received an Award of Excellence in the Science & Natural History Picture Story and Environmental Vision Award categories; and Bruce Bennett, who earned first place in the Sports Life category.

Getty Images photographers were recognised with a multitude of awards at POY 2022, including:

Dean Mouhtaropoulos – First place, Sports Photographer of the Year

Patrick Smith – First place, Olympic Action, and Finalist, Sports Photographer of the Year

Brent Stirton – First place, Science & Natural History Singles, and Award of Excellence, Science & Natural History Picture Story and Environmental Vision Award

Bruce Bennett – First place, Sports Life

Spencer Platt – Finalist, General News

Matthias Hangst – Award of Excellence, Olympic Action

Ryan Pierse – Award of Excellence, Olympic Action

Elsa Garrison – Award of Excellence, Olympic Life

Win McNamee – Award of Excellence, Spot News

Mario Tama – Award of Excellence, Science & Natural History Singles
