Getty Images expands further into the consumer market with introduction of Photos.com by Getty Images

Global digital media company Getty Images today announces the launch of Photos.com by Getty Images, a new site where consumers can purchase high quality framed prints of its award-winning photography. Photos.com is Getty Images’ second new offering for consumers, following the March launch of its embed feature, which makes it easy, legal and free for everyone to share its news, creative and archival imagery on websites, blogs, and social media platforms for non-commercial purposes.

Built on Getty Images’ unrivaled archive and exclusive collections from a wide range of world-renowned specialist photographers, Photos.com features a broad selection of images that will grow in the coming months. With content spanning current events and famous faces through to world culture, contemporary concepts and iconic black-and-white photography from the archive, Photos.com offers stunning imagery for an array of purposes and passions.

Photos.com’s carefully curated selection includes the work of The LIFE Collection photographers Alfred Eisenstaedt, Gjon Mili and Margaret Bourke-White, more than 45 years of David Redfern’s famed work with legendary musicians like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, as well as work from American archival photojournalist Earl Leaf, renowned for his memorable portraits of Hollywood icons. Another highlight is Slim Aarons’ much-celebrated collection of high-society gatherings, including the Kings of Hollywood. Remarkable collections from celebrated Getty Images photojournalists, including Brent Stirton, Mario Tama and Chris Hondros, are also exclusively available at Photos.com, showcasing moving images of world events and culture, alongside unique perspectives of public figures and landscapes.

Getty Images has partnered with leading integrated fine art company, New Era Portfolio, which will produce and fulfill all orders. Customers can choose from a variety of frames and five different materials for image printing, including  gallery wrapped canvas, framed archival paper, aluminum (mounted and floated), acrylic and birchwood. Prices begin at USD $90 and vary by image, material and size.

Both Photos.com and the embed tool  break new ground for Getty Images as it expands its offering to consumers, harnessing technology and new business models to drive broader exposure and usage of its content, and power the visual world.
