Getty Images Editorial Expertise Recognized at White House News Photographers Association Awards

Washington D.C.- 11th February, 2019: Several Getty Images photographers received top honors at the White House News Photographers Association Awards Sunday night, recognizing the company’s industry leading editorial talent.

At last night’s 2019 White House News Photographers Association Awards, Getty Images photographers collected a total of 14 awards across a variety of categories:

  • Chip Somodevilla won awarded first place in the following categories: Feature, Picture Story/ Politics, Portfolio. Somodevilla also took home third place in: On Capitol Hill, Picture Story/ Politics and Political Portfolio.
  • Patrick Smith won first place in the following categories: Sports Action and Picture Story/ Sports. He was also awarded second place in the Sports Action category and honored with two Awards of Excellence in the Sports Feature/ Action category.
  • Win McNamee was awarded second place in the On Capitol Hill category and was recognized with Awards of Excellence in the following categories: On Capitol Hill and Insider’s Washington.
