Exclusive partnership to give British fashion greater global exposure than ever before
Getty Images, a world leader in visual communications, and the British Fashion Council (BFC) today announce an exclusive partnership which sees Getty Images become the BFC’s Official Supplier, creating and distributing premium content on behalf of the BFC across its annual suite of events.
Under the official designation, Getty Images’ roster of elite and award-winning fashion photographers will cover all the BFC’s key annual events, including London Fashion Week, London Fashion Week Men’s, London Fashion Week Festival and The Fashion Awards, as well as additional events and launches. All imagery will be distributed across Getty Images’ industry-leading platform, bringing some of the most iconic events in the British fashion calendar to audiences in every corner of the globe.
Getty Images will create a digital asset management system for the BFC, facilitating the easy storage and sharing of their content and additionally create a British Fashion Council collection on its global platform from which all images will be available to view and download. The collection will launch on 15 September.
“We are proud to partner with the British Fashion Council and help them achieve greater global exposure for British fashion via our unparalleled photographic talent and distribution reach,” said Lisa Marie Rae, Director of Entertainment EMEA at Getty Images. “As the premier producer and distributor of luxury imagery and video we are committed to showing British fashion at its best, and taking the country’s talent – from iconic, heritage brands to promising emerging talent – to an even broader international audience.”
The partnership launches with the upcoming London Fashion Week, where Getty Images will have dedicated BFC photographers and editors onsite ensuring content is created and made available in close to real time for the organisation’s partners, designers and press.
“This partnership will deliver a new level of quality, choice and speed to our ever-increasing audience of stakeholders including press, designers, sponsors, and ultimately expanding our global consumer reach,” said Jenico Preston, Commercial Director at British Fashion Council. “Getty Images photographers have been capturing London Fashion Week for years, and in an increasingly visual world this partnership will make British fashion more accessible than ever.”
A trusted partner to many of the luxury industry’s major brands and organizations, Getty Images is already the Official Photographer of NYFW: The Shows, Official Photographer of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Berlin and Official Photographer of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia. The company also regularly partners with the industry’s leading brands to create premium imagery and video for use across the brands’ communications platforms.
