A portion of proceeds made will be donated to TIFF Share Her Journey campaign to support women in film
New York- 28 August 2018: Getty Images, a world leader in visual communications, has today been appointed as the official photographer of the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), one of the largest film festivals in the world.
As part of the long-standing partnership, Getty Images will donate a portion of the proceeds generated from five pre-selected red carpet premieres to Share Her Journey, TIFF’s five year fundraising campaign dedicated to championing women in front of and behind the camera. Share Her Journey is growing its global momentum with a lengthy list of ambassadors, including Priyanka Chopra, Amma Asante, Molly McGlynn, Jill Soloway, Jennifer Podemski and Joyce Wong.
At the TIFF Tribute Gala, Getty Images’ team of content creators will deliver high-end portraits of talent at the event. These images will be disseminated through gettyimages.com, the personal social media channels of the talent featured in the portraits, and TIFF editorial content.
“In today’s digital age, producing powerful visual content that breaks through the noise is essential to telling a compelling story,” said Kirstin Benson, VP, Global Entertainment, Getty Images. “We’re thrilled to partner with TIFF once again and play a role in elevating the crucial work of Share Her Journey.”
“TIFF is delighted to welcome Getty on board this year and extremely grateful for their generous contribution towards Share Her Journey to help us support a future film industry that represents the most diverse perspectives and range of voices on screen,” said maxine bailey, Vice President of Advancement, TIFF.
2018 marks the 11th year that Getty Images will be delivering content through an exclusive partnership with TIFF. TIFF kicks off on September 6 and runs through September 16.
