Local competition invites Singaporeans to capture authentic and diverse moments of daily life in Singapore.

Getty Images, the world’s leader in visual communication, alongside iStock by Getty Images, the web’s original resource for crowd sourced royalty-free stock images, media and design elements, today announce the launch of an innovative competition in celebration of the 50th anniversary of independence for Singapore.

Supported by marketing publication Campaign Asia-Pacific, the competition is calling all Singaporeans to #RePicture Singapore and capture the diversity of Singapore, family, friends, love, food, urban lifestyle, suburban life and more.

Speaking on the competition, Getty Images Vice President of Sales, Asia, Kumiko Shimamoto says: “At Getty Images we believe that images have the power to change the way people view the world. We’re excited to launch this competition that not only celebrates SG50, but also encourages Singaporeans to help us capture the real Singapore. Getty Images is committed to creating imagery that presents a more authentic view for our customers – in Singapore and the world over.”

The contest runs from 1 April through to 31 May, 2015, and is open to semi-professional and amateur photographers, as well as creatives in Singapore. The competition will be judged by a panel of leading creative and photography industry experts, including:

Judging criteria is focused on consistency with the theme, composition of the photograph, technical skills and authenticity. The winner has the chance to not only receive a fantastic GoPro Hero4 (approximate value of S$700), but to join the Getty Images team as a contributing photographer, with access to and guidance from Getty Images’ global team of art directors and editors.

Getty Images invites participants to share their imagery using #repicture, capturing images that reflect the nation’s progress since 1965; Singapore’s pioneering spirit and that show real-life with people of all backgrounds, gender, and age.
